Norton Hall

Nursery Facilities

Norton Hall Community Nursery is a colourful and exciting place for young children with two spacious playrooms and an outdoor play area

Our Bears Room is for our youngest children and is a cosy home where we encourage our toddlers to develop at their own pace, exploring the special delights of the world around them. In our caring and happy environment children are involved in all aspects of development and our carefully planned routines encourage the growth of confident, secure children.

Our Tigers Room is for our older 3 and 4 year olds and facilitates the thirst to question and find out more about all aspects of their rapidly expanding world.

Outdoor play area - our outdoor area allows our children to learn through what they do, what they encounter and what they discover. It encourages all of our children to learn about our natural world, themselves and each other as they climb, jump and explore mini beasts. Our beautiful equipment is designed to encourage children to be active learners developing the learning skills of enquiry, experimentation and reflection.

The Early Years programmes at our Nursery follow the themes, principles and commitments of the Early Years Foundation Stage. Our curriculum is founded upon sensitive child observations which enable us to plan for each child’s development.

Children's moves to new rooms are managed very well and staff share information about children's needs. This is done gradually, and as children know all the staff, they feel secure in their new room. Transitions to local schools are smooth and help children to feel secure.
