Norton Hall

Dolphin Centre Development

In 2012 Norton Hall acquired The Dolphin Centre at Ward End Park on a lease from Birmingham City Council. We are developing the centre to offer women in Washwood Heath a range of learning, employment and wellbeing activities.

We have secured feasibility study funding from the Social Investment Business (SIB) to look at the renovation and regeneration of the Centre and the surrounding park area, and are currently consulting with local women on what they would like to see happen.

Today, the Dolphin Centre looks like this:

But we want to transform it to this:

Get Involved and Shape Our Plans

We know there is a need and demand for the Dolphin Women's Centre. A survey of women who accessed education and training support at the Dolphin Centre in 2013 revealed that:

  • 100% of women who had accessed support had increased confidence and were able to continue learning
  • 99 % made new friends and felt less isolated
  • 96% felt more confident to mix with people from different cultures and backgrounds.

Help make our dream a reality! If you're interested in finding out more about the Dolphin Women's Centre as a partner, user, funder, local business, volunteer, or if you're just curious, please contact Suzanne Knipe or Maxine Mills on 0121 326 8343 or 0121 328 3043.
