We work in Birmingham’s 5% most disadvantaged communities where there is a high level of socio-economic hardship. Therefore, people in our community are particularly vulnerable to food poverty.
Since the COVID pandemic and the current cost of living crisis, many families in our community have been struggling financially, which has further highlighted the issue of food poverty.

We are working in partnership with a variety of local organisations to develop services to reduce food poverty and help struggling families.
Along with charity FareShare Midlands, we aim to reduce food wastage from the supermarkets. This surplus food helps us to provide healthy and sustainable meals for children, young people and women who access our food justice services. These services include providing emergency food parcels to local families struggling with food poverty.
